Roller Door Repairs & New Roller Doors

Roller doors are tough, simple and space-saving, which is why so many Sydney garages have one. When they start dragging, sticking or rolling up crooked, a service or repair will usually have them running smoothly again.

Common roller door repairs

  • Re-tensioning the drum springs so the door isn't heavy
  • Straightening or replacing bent guides and tracks
  • Fixing a door that rolls up unevenly or catches on one side
  • Replacing worn brackets, axle bearings and wind locks
  • Repairing or replacing the bottom rail and rubber seal
  • Fitting or replacing a roller door motor

Signs your roller door needs attention

A roller door should lift with steady, even resistance and stay where you leave it. If it slams down, races up, feels much heavier than it used to, or the curtain bunches at one end, the spring tension is out or the guides are damaged. Ignoring it puts extra strain on the motor and can crease the curtain, which is far more expensive to fix than the original problem.

New roller doors

We supply and install new roller doors for homes, units and small commercial spaces. Roller doors need very little headroom, don't take up ceiling space and are one of the most affordable ways to secure a garage. We can fit them manual or automatic, in a range of steel colours, with wind-lock options for exposed sites.

Lubrication: what to use and what to avoid

Roller door guides should be cleaned and lightly treated with a silicone spray, not grease. Grease collects dust and grit and turns into a grinding paste over time. If your door is already noisy after being greased, a service will clean the guides back and set the tension correctly.

Areas we cover

We provide roller doors from our base in Croydon Park to homes and businesses across Canterbury and the Inner West, including:

Common questions

Why is my roller door so heavy?

The spring tension inside the drum has dropped over time. A technician can re-tension it so the door lifts easily again. Never try to adjust roller door springs yourself; they hold a lot of stored energy.

Can you motorise my existing roller door?

Usually yes, provided the door is in good condition and correctly balanced. We'll service and tension the door first so the new motor isn't fighting it.

Garage door playing up?
