Garage Door Repairs in Canterbury & Croydon Park

A garage door that won't open, won't close or makes a noise it never used to is a security problem and a daily headache. Our local technicians diagnose the fault on the first visit, carry common parts in the van, and get most doors working again the same day.

Garage door problems we fix every week

  • Door stuck half-open or refusing to move
  • Door opens a little then reverses back down
  • Grinding, squealing, banging or shuddering when it runs
  • Door off its tracks, crooked or hanging lower on one side
  • Broken torsion or extension springs
  • Snapped or frayed lift cables
  • Worn or seized rollers, bearings and hinges
  • Dented, bent or damaged panels after a bump from the car
  • Motor humming but the door doesn't move
  • Remotes or wall buttons that have stopped working
  • Safety beams out of alignment so the door won't close
  • Gaps under the door letting in water, leaves and pests

How a repair visit works

You call, tell us what the door is doing, and we book a time that suits you, often the same day. When the technician arrives they check the whole system, not just the symptom: springs, cables, drums, tracks, rollers, the opener and the safety sensors. A door that has stopped working usually has one failed part and two or three more that are close behind.

Before any work starts you get a clear explanation of what has failed and a firm price for fixing it. If a repair isn't worth doing on an old door, we'll say so plainly and talk you through the options.

Why you shouldn't force a broken door

Garage door springs carry most of the door's weight, and a sectional door can weigh well over 100 kg. If a spring or cable has gone, lifting the door by hand or running the motor against it can bend the panels, strip the opener's gears or bring the door down suddenly. If your door has stopped mid-way or looks uneven, leave it where it is, keep people and cars clear, and give us a call.

All door types, all major brands

We repair roller doors, sectional overhead doors, tilt-a-doors, side-hinged doors and commercial roller shutters, along with the motors and openers that drive them. Parts are sourced to match your existing door wherever possible so the repair looks and runs like the original.

Common questions

Can you repair my garage door on the same day?

In most cases, yes. We're open 7 days from 8am to 8pm and keep springs, cables, rollers and common opener parts on hand. Call early and we'll give you an arrival window.

Is it worth repairing an old garage door?

Often it is. Springs, cables, rollers and motors can all be replaced individually. If the panels are badly rusted, warped or the door is unsafe, a replacement can cost less over time and we'll give you both prices to compare.

Why does my garage door open then go back down?

This is usually the opener's safety system reacting to something: misaligned or dirty safety beams, a door that's binding in the tracks, or a force setting that needs adjustment. A failing spring can also make the door feel too heavy to the motor.
